A ROUND of 2 under par for the 12-hole Bring-a-Prize competition saw Benny Tierney (6) come top of the Christmas Festive prize tree with a return of 32 points.
A 4 under par round from David Pilkington (2) netted him runner-up spot as the top two were the only ones to shoot 30+ points. David Hamill (5) edged out Barry McKeown (7) for third spot after both returned 29 points and Colum Quinn was next with 28. Prizes can be collected from the prize table in the club.
James Coburn (11) became the first 2018 competition winner as his 26 points for the 12-hole Singles Stableford Sweep saw him emerge as winner by a single point. Prolific competition winner James spoiled a winning chance for his mate and playing partner, 2018 Captain Paddy Malone (5), by also taking the fourball bet off him with a one-point victory.
The Captain’s 25 points gave him a tie for second spot, but a birdie with a shot from new member Martin Hollywood (19) saw him take runner-up, with Paddy third. David Rafferty, Shane Muckian and John Kelly were next with 24 points apiece.
