GLEN EMMETS GRAND PRIZE DRAW RESULTS

The Glen Emmets Grand Prize Draw was held New Years Day in the Morning Star. The Winners are as follows: €6,000 Noel McCarron, €2,000 Richard Fallon, €1,000 Tom Hayden, €100 Gerry Johnson, €100 Ben Bashford, €100 David Maloney, €100 Martin Cairns, €100 David Coyle, €100 Breda Leddy, €100 Jocelyn Reilly, €100 Niall Moonan, €100 Gerry Doyle, €100 Patsy McCloskey & €100 Ailish Cullen. Congratula­tions to all the winners and well done to the club for another successful fundraiser.

TULLYALLEN TRACTOR RUN

The organizers of the Tullyallen Tractor run would like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you who supported our tractor Run over Christmas. Each contributi­on, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciate­d and they are blown away each and every year by the generosity of the local people, and those who go out of their way to travel to be with them. The final tally has yet to be done, but it is safe to say, that they have all outdone themselves once again for the amazing causes that are the Oncology Ward in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Tullyallen Carers

The next Do This in Memory Mass is on Sunday 14th of January at 11 am. Christian Unity Prayer Service to mark Christian Unity Week will be celebrated on Thursday 25th of January at 7.30pm in Church of the Assumption, Tullyallen. All are welcome. Light Refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards in the parochial hall. St. Oliver’s Pastoral Area Calendars are available in the porch. Please feel free to take one.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

Slimming World have been running their classes over the Christmas period and the classes will continue to be on every Thursday in the New Year. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. If you feel you have overdone it a wee bit at Christmas, why not head on down to the Glen Emmets Clubrooms. All new and returning members are more than welcome

as Amanda will be there giving plenty of inspiratio­n, motivation and encouragem­ent to everyone who comes along.

GLEN EMMETS SHORTLISTE­D IN THE DROGHEDA INDEPENDEN­T SPORTS AWARDS

Drogheda Independen­t Sports Award nominees have been announced and the Glen Emmets Junior Champions have been nominated as ‘Team of the Year’ and Tom Grimes is also up for ‘Sports Star’ of the Year. The good news is that you can vote as often as you like by filling in form in Drogheda Independen­t each week till January 23rd.

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday 2nd January 2018. The Grand Prize Draw was for €3,200 and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were: 3, 10, 21 & 22. The 4 Lucky Dip winners who receive €25 each are Ann Mullen, Patsy Everitt, Marian Ryan & C. Hoey/J.O’Brien. Next week’s draw is €3,300. TOWNLEY HALL GOLF CLUB

The Winner of the 9 hole re-entry competitio­n played on 30th/31st December was Martin Reynolds with 23 points. The Midweek winner was Pauric Pentony with 20 points.

WELL DONE TO EMMETS LADS

Well done to James Butler & Ronan Grufferty on playing their part in Louth’s 2-11 to 0-9 win last week in the O’Byrne Cup, Round 2, match against Kildare.
