Drogheda girl Deirdre is looking for your dance votes

- BY HUBERT MURPHY

DROGHEDA’S latest dancing star needs your votes to keep her in the acclaimed second series of Dancing with The Stars.

Deirdre O’Kane, who was brought up on the Dublin Road and Greenhills, has taken to the dancefloor as part of the hit RTE Sunday night show.

Married to film producer Stephen Bradley, she spent 10 years in Lomdon, both acting and writing as well as being a top comedian.

She also starred in the film ‘Noble’ - based on the story of Christina Noble.

She came home two years ago and admits she accepted a slot on the dance show at the last minute.

The actor and comedian took to the floor two weeks ago for the first time with partner John Edward Nolan but admits signing up for the series as “the most insane thing I’ve ever done in my life”.

“I was an Irish dancer until I was 11. I kind of wanted to find out if I could dance,’ the voice of Gogglebox Ireland stated.

Deirdre returns to the floor next Sunday at 6.30pm on RTE and would love to get the support of the local public to keep her feet tapping.
