Break-in at St Joseph’s School

-

GARDAÍ are investigating a break-in at St Joseph’s Secondary School on the Newfoundwell Road (pictured).

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday, January 14th last. The front window of the office was smashed and entry to the premises was gained through it.

A substantial amount of damage was caused as a result of the break-in, however the door of the office was locked preventing the culprits from getting any further. There were no valuables or cash in the office and so nothing was taken from the premises.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Drogheda are also investigating break-ins to a number of cars at the popular local tourist spot Old Mellifont Abbey last Thursday, January 11th. Three cars were broken into between 10.40am and 11.20am and suitcases containing clothes, personal belongings and small quantities of cash were taken from the vehicles. Also on January 11th, a person visiting the hospital had the car broken into while parked in Moneymore sometime between 2pm and 3.30pm. Nthing was taken.
