Man suffers leg injury in attempted robbery

Pinned against vehicle by vicious thieves

A local man was rammed by vicious heartless thieves and suffered a broken leg after he tried to prevent them breaking into his van, it has been revealed.

Gardaí in Drogheda are investigat­ing the terrifying attack, which happened at around 1.20pm on Friday, January 12th in the Wheaton Hall estate.

During the incident, two men in a grey Peugeot 207 were observed trying to break into the van by the owner of the vehicle and another man.

When the owner confronted the culprits, they reversed the car into the injured party who sustained what is believed to be a broken leg as a result after he was pinned between their vehicle and a trailer. Gardaí said this was a particular­ly ruthless attack and they would like to hear from anyone with any informatio­n on the incident.
