Cease parking at the former Coca-Cola factory

-

CLLR Paul Bell has appealed to motorists parking their vehicles across the entrance to footpaths in at the entrance of the former Coca Cola facility and close proximity to the newly constructed bus set down to cease immediately.

“In response to this inconsiderate and unnecessary behaviour, I appeal to motorists to cease immediately as pedestrians especially those with mobility difficulties and parents using prams for their children are being forced to cross the road which us unacceptable. Especially when considering the speed and volume of traffic on Donore Road which is one of Drogheda busiest artery routes,” said Bell.

“I have also contacted the Gardai and Louth County Council in this regard in response to the concerns expressed by citizens. Council have noted that some of these vehicles are parked on existing double yellow lines and that obstruction is to the footpaths which are designed for disable access. I have requested road marking to be installed so as to conform to motorists that the obstruction will be dealt with under the Road Traffic Acts in the interest of public safety”.
