Marley’s Lane wall is now in a dangerous state, says cllr
LOUTH County Council has been criticised for its failure to repair a boundary wall located on Marley’s Lane at the entrance to the Tredagh View estate, with Cllr Paul Bell stating that the structure is now in a dangerous condition. “I raised this issue at last week’s Council meeting in order to express my deepest concerns that I had initially brought this issue to the attention of Council in September, October, November and December last year as I feared the wall would collapse. I expressed my annoyance at the fact that no action had been taken and also that a 70m stretch of wall had to be eventually removed by Council following acts of vandalism much to the dismay of local residents,’ he said.
Bell confirmed that he was awaiting a report into the matter and hoped that Council’s response to damaged wall would be an improvement on the previous response which allowed for an understanding that vandals can act with impunity.
