Woman (20 is to be sen t forward for trial at the Circuit Court

A WOMAN charged with assaultin g an other person is to be sen t forward for trial to Dun dalk Circuit Crimin al Court n ext Friday, Jan uary 19th.

Elean or Aspell (20) is alleged to have caused a fracture to the alleged victim’s cheekbon e an d allegedly caused their retin a to become detached durin g the alleged assault.

The defen dan t, of Ballsgrove in Drogheda, is to be served with the Book of Eviden ce on Friday an d will be sen t forward to face trial by judge an d jury at the Circuit Crimin al Court.

She is alleged to have assaulted the person causin g them harm at Lin en Court, Green hills in Drogheda on February 18th, 2016.

At a previous court sittin g, a medical report on the alleged in jured party was han ded in to court statin g in juries in cluded a fracture to their cheekbon e an d a detached retin a.

After readin g the medical report, Judge John Coughlan refused jurisdiction to have the case heard at district court level, where if con victed, the pen alties are less than those of the Circuit Court.
