THE final of the first Drogheda Darts League took place in Levins of Magdalene Street between the Levins ‘ A’ team and Brown Derby ‘A ‘ team. Supporters of both sides turned up in strength to cheer on their players and the match served as an exciting finale to the very enjoyable inter pub league.

The Levins team went ahead with wins by Owens, Smith and Hill but their opponents recovered well to take the next three. The game then rested on the outcome of the final three games and the players concerned here were B. Cleary (Brown Derby) and S. Rice (Levins).

Cleary won the first game but Rice got back on terms taking the second. The tension really mounted now but in the end Rice clinched victory for the Levins team.

Mr. J. Levins made the presentations afterwards and thanked all concerned for their part in making the league such a success.
