‘There was a time when the buck stopped at Fair Street. Now it stops 22 miles away in Dundalk’

-

THE preceived loss of authority for Drogheda to be governed from its traditional seat of council business at Fair Street was bemoaned by former Dunleer councillor, Hugh D Conlon (right).

Sparking one of the loudest cheers of the night, he rounded on how Drogheda’s power had been diminished.

‘Fair Street has to get its clout back because this town is being run by Dundalk,’ he stormed. ‘I hope that in 2019 there will be a proper authority for this town because what is happening at the moment does not work.
