Meeting on the lack of Watery Hill lights

-

SENATOR Ged Nash has confirmed that Council officials will meet ESB representative next week in order to have the lights at Watery Hill fixed.

The Senator has been in touch with the Council and the ESB following complaints from local residents.

He said, “The lights have been out of action for several months. This is unacceptable and represents a serious risk for residents using the steps.

“This is a main pedestrian artery to the Mount, Congress Avenue and Marian Park areas and these lights need to be fixed now.

“The Council has informed me that their own contractors cannot access these broken lights given the equipment needed and the terrain.

“As the lights are on ESB poles only certified ESB staff are permitted to climb them. I will receive an update from the Council after their meeting and I am hopeful of a swift resolution.”
