Alzheimer’s group say thanks to the fundraisers
WE would be grateful for the opportunity to express our gratitude to the many people who have helped us in our fund-raising activities throughout the year in 2017.
As your readers may know, we have had a busy time as we continue our uphill task of raising the funds to provide Drogheda and its environs with a suitable Day Care Centre for sufferers from Alzheimer’s.
It would take up far more room than is possible to thank everybody individually, particularly our many great voluntary workers who help us with fund-raising events, including bucket collections, bag-packing and raffles.
So we will confine ourselves to naming some people without whom our year would not have been so successful.
People such as the amazing marathon man, Don Thornton, Gary Fagan and State Street who helped make our Lip Sync a rip-roaring hit, and Fr David Bradley, whose invaluable help with our Holy Family, Ballsgrove concert was above and beyond the call of duty.
To tenor and Seagrave House supremo, Eugene Ginty, who allowed us fund-raise during his shows there and to carol singers, Glor, we say a million thanks.
Marks and Spencer’s were very generous in allowing our bag-packing activities while our coffers were swelled by the proceeds of the Drogheda Down Memory Lane calendar and we thank Anglo Printers for their help.
If we have omitted anybody by mistake, please excuse us. We are grateful to each and every one of the townspeople who helped us in any way.
The job ahead of us is still great but, with all your continued help and backing, we are determined to re-double our efforts to achieve our goal in the coming year.
Yours, Noel Heeney, chairman and Ann Shortt, chair of fund-raising committee, on behalf of Drogheda branch, Alzheimer Society of
Ireland.
