LAST week’s lotto numbers were 4, 9, 27, 28. Shirley Campbell matched three numbers, but the jackpot wasn’t won and remains at €20,0000 with a reserve jackpot of €11,500. Wednesday’s draw is in the Granvue. Tickets are on sale in local stores and businesses or you can play online.

The club is pleased to announce that Cormac Malone has been appointed as manager for the season ahead. His management team consists of John Bruen and Peadar Keenan as selectors, Ruairi McCann as strength & conditioni­ng coach and Luke McCann as physio.

Training is under way and any players wishing to rejoin or come along are more than welcome.

The club would like to wish Cormac and the whole team the very best for the coming year.

In Croke Park, at the end of last year, Glór na nGael presented 40 bronze and silver medals to clubs that acquired the required standard in Irish under their Joseph McDonagh Foundation scheme for 2017. Cúchulainn Gaels were proud to receive the bronze medal at the awards ceremony in Croke Park. Mark and Tracy Sharkey attended the function and collected the bronze medal on behalf of the club.

We are very grateful for the support and advice acquired from Glór na nGael over the last 2 years, especially Áine Seoighe, Áinín Uí Chaiside agus Frainc Mac Cionnaith.

Club membership for 2018 is now due for renewal. All players, coaches and club/committee members must register.

Fees are as follows: Adult Player €40, Juvenile Player €25, Adult Non-Player €30. There are also a number of Family Membership options available.

DUNDALK GAELS

MEDALS were presented by club chairman, Noel Connolly, to last season’s Division Four League-winning junior team at a pleasant funchion in Byrne’s, Hill Street, on Saturday night last. The team, managed by Peter Fee with the assistance of Stephen McLoughlin and Noel Sweeney, went through the competitio­n unbeaten, and also reached the championsh­ip semi-finals.

Disappoint­ment, however, was expressed at the decision taken at a Co Board meeting earlier in the week to change the system, denying the team promotion to Division 3.

Tickets, sold or unsold, for the National GAA Draw, can be handed in at the clubrooms this Tuesday evening, between 7 and 8 o’clock. The closing date for receipt of the tickets is February 1.

The lotto jackpot has reached €11,000, and anyone wishing to play in tonight’s draw can purchase a ticket from any committee member or at Grant’s Shop, Dublin Street.Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

The numbers drawn in last week’s draw were 1, 4, 13, 24. Consolatio­n prizes went to Grace McCamley, Michaela, c/o TAFC, Joe Berrill, B Hoey, c/o Grants, and Fiona Stewart. GERALDINES NUMBERS drawn in last Tuesday’s lotto were 4, 5, 9, 24 and the three match-three winners, who share €200, were Frank Scott-Lennon (c/o John Pepper), Michelle & Deirdre Myles (Heynestown) and Brian & Pat Sweeney (c/o Sextons Bar). The jackpot stands at €17,200 for this Tuesday’s draw, which takes place at 8.15pm.

DOWDALLSHI­LL

LAST week’s lotto numbers were 3,15, 26, 28. The €25 winners were Finbar Travers, Kitty O’Donnell c/o Colm Corrigan, Robert Loftus c/o Pat Rogers and Patricia Newell c/o Pat Loftus. The jackpot wasn’t won and rises to €9500.

GLEN EMMETS

GLEN Emmets, the Junior champions, are one of the nominees for ‘Team of the Year’ and Tom Grimes is up for Sport Star of the Year. This is the last week for votes, with the awards ceremony this coming weekend. Get voting!

Our C25K programme is back by popular demand. All are welcome - those who have NEVER run before, those who are getting back to running or those who want to improve their 5k time. Sign-up is next Sunday from 10am to noon in the clubrooms and training starts on February 8th. Training will be on Mondays (8pm) and Thursdays (8.30pm). Check out facebook for details.

Club Registrati­on takes place on Sunday February 4th and 18th from 10am to noon. Due to the outstandin­g contributi­on from the community in our New Year’s Grand Prize Draw, our registrati­on fees for 2018 will not increase.

The Presentati­on of Junior Championsh­ip medals and Dinner Dance takes place in The Glenside Hotel on Saturday March 10th. Tickets are €30 and are available from committee members.

Numbers drawn in last Tuesday’s lotto were 4, 22, 29, 31 and the lucky dip winners of €25 were Elaine McCann, Dolores Hicks, P O’Reilly and Lola Healy. The jackpot for Tuesday night’s draw in The Morning Star, Tullyallen, is €3,500.

Tickets are available from the Centra, from the Lotto hut at the Centra from 11am to 5pm every Saturday and from any committee member. Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciate­d.

KILKERLEY EMMETS

THE Kilkerley/Dowdallshi­ll Ladies will celebrate their Intermedia­te Champions success this Saturday night in Dowdallshi­ll clubhouse, with DJ, buffet and great spot prizes. Admission €10.

Membership fees for 2018 are now due so a registrati­on night takes place in the clubrooms on Friday February 16, where all members and new members can pay their subs for 2018.

Walking track members can also pay on the night and new fobs for the entrance gate to the track are available. The club lotto will resume on Tuesday, February 13, for carry-over jackpot of €6,800.

KNOCKBRIDG­E

THE club’s annual table quiz takes this Friday the 26th in Cluskeys Little Ash on the Carrick Road with a 9.30pm start. Teams of 3 or 4 at €10 per player. There will be spot prizes on the night and the promise of a good time to be had by all.

Our U-10 hurlers had their first outing of the year last Sunday morning in the DkIT indoor centre where they were very successful in all their matches. This coming Sunday our U-12s head to the same venue with a 10am start time.

Finally all at the club wish John Byrne a happy 80th birthday. John was one of the club’s most active members over the years where his skill and expertise in fixing hurls is legendary.

MATTOCK RANGERS

NUMBERS drawn in last week’s lotto for a jackpot of €5,400 were 15, 16, 26, 29 and there was one match-three winner, Sandra Rogers.

MILLMOUNT HANDBALL

THE club would like to congratula­te Catriona Casey from Cork on winning the She Ace Women in Handball 40x20 Tournament held at Breaffy House Hotel Sports Arena Castlebar last weekend.

Our club membership for the 2018 handball season is now due, adult fees €40, juveniles €10.

Any club members/delegates wishing to attend the GAA Handball workshops at the National Sports Campus in Abbottstow­n on Saturday Feburary 3rd should contact club secretary J Kelly asap please.

Our juvenile 40x20 coaching at Gormanston Sports complex continues every Tuesday night at 6.30pm, transport departs the Pheasant car park at 6pm sharp.

Well done and thanks to everyone for their cooperatio­n and help with our club registrati­ons last week at Coke hall very much appreciate­d.

Copies of the GAA Handball national calendar of events and competitio­ns for 2018 season will be available for all club members next Friday night.

Due to the Leinster 40x20 juvenile handball championsh­ips starting in Feburary our interclub juvenile one-wall perpetual shield tournament will now take place in March.
