WHILE works to help water issues on the Carranstown Road at Duleek have been welcomed by the local community, a lack of correspondence with local businesses has left many of them upset.
Cllr Stephen McKee (right) told last week’s area council meeting that Irish Water had undertaken works on the road but local firms were not informed.
‘It is unacceptable that they were not personally told and they couldn’t get into their premises,’ he stated.
He said the delays people experienced also impacted on customers to these locations.
Director of Services Fiona Lawless said that Irish Water should have informed the businesses about the matter.
The council said that they would discuss any issues with their water department.
