The following article appeared in the pages of the Dublin Evening Post on Thursday 19th February back in 1784.
`To be let for 21 years and entered upon at May next, the house and lands of Balloy containing about 245 acres; will be let together or divided. The house is not large but convenient, has all requisite offices, garden and small orchard, would suit a small family or a gentleman in business who would like to have a lodge in the country to retire to in the summer.
Also Stamullen farm to let containing about 40 acres exceeding fine land with a house which will answer for the same purpose as the one above mentioned having the same conveniencies.
These two farms are situated in the county of Meath and barony of Duleek within a mile and a half of the sea, six miles from Drogheda and seventeen from Dublin.
Proposals in writing to be received by Lord Gormanston at Gormanston. N.B. There is no preference promised to any person. Dated this February 12th 1784`.
