Anthony Moore gets the local FF nod as he plans route to the Dail

-

THE Fianna Fail candidate selection race is hotting up, with the South Louth / East Meath comhairle ceantair holding a special meeting last Monday to discuss the convention.

The chairman, Richard Cooney, addressed a room packed with an expectant crowd. Members were delighted to meet the local candidate Anthony Moore (right), who was already fully nominated and entitled to contest the convention. Anthony said it was great to see such a crowd and emphasised the need for discipline and unity as this would be key to getting him elected as the first FF TD for the town since the late Larry Walsh.

He said “For too long Drogheda - Ireland’s biggest town - has failed to elect a FF TD. This is our big chance now to rectify this and ensure we have effective, hard-working representation for South Louth and East Meath, including Drogheda, in Dail Eireann. I’m really delighted to have such a cross-section of support. We will get this nomination and hit the ground running, pounding the pavements and knocking doors, leaving no stone unturned to get two seats in this constituency at the next election.”
