Eir box damaged after break-in at business

GARDAÍ are investigat­ing after an Eir cabinet on the Donore Road was damaged causing thousands of euro worth of damage.

They believe it may be connected to a robbery in the Donore Industrial Estate on the same night in which a substantia­l amount of cash was taken.

The Eir Transmitte­r box was tampered with in the early hours of Thursday morning, January 25th causing close to ten thousand euro worth of damage.

As a result of in the incident, a number of nearby business premises were left without service the following day.

A short time after the box was damaged, sometime between 2.30am and 3am, a business premises on the Donore Industrial Estate was broken into via an emergency door and approximat­ely €1,300 in cash was stolen.

Meanwhile, Gardaí in Meath are investigat­ing arson attacks on two mobile homes in the area over the weekend.

At midnight on Sunday a mobile home was set on fire in Mornington.

In the other incident, also in Mornington, a holiday home was set on fire around 11.15pm on Saturday night.

A number of car windows smashed in the Gleann Alainn estate in Tullyallen on January 23rd and 26th are also being investigat­ed.
