‘That’s no disrespect to the other teams in the league. We had players playing in Dublin and they all came back and there’s nothing better than playing for your home town with lads you know.
‘Niall Kelly coached the school team, but we have Gerald Kennedy [at Bullets]. He’s an American who had a great year himself with Virginia Tech, a Division 1 college over there. He’s a great coach and as a player he’s probably making me play the best basketball of my career.
‘The aim is to play as a senior international one day - I played Under-17 and Under-18 and had to give it up for family reasons - but I don’t see why not. That’s if I put on a bit of weight and a bit of muscle - that’s always the down part of being 5ft 7in!
‘But it’s not like, you’re too small. It’s not the case. It helps being 6ft 6in, but if you’re smart you can get away with it.’
