Slane and Downpatrick

THE community of Slane is planning a number of events to mark its twinning with Downpatrick.

The two have been linked for some years but a recent council discussion on twinning has re-ignited the spark.

The matter was raised at a recent council meeting where it was explained that the twinning dates back to 2012.

The village is proposing activities for 2018 as part of that association.

Both are closely linked to St Patrick.
