Sharkey twins born in Lourdes

-

Twin boys were among the five New Year babies born in Our Lady of Lourdcs Hospital, on Sunday. Although not the first 1978 babies to arrive in the Drogheda hospital, their birth at 6.45 p.m. that evening did add to the New Year excitement in the maternity unit.

Both twins, one weighed 4 lbs 5 oz and the other 4 1b 1 oz, and their mother, Mrs. Dolores Sharkey of Dunleer, are doing well.

The first baby of 1978 in the hospital was a 9 1b 9 oz boy born to Mrs. Rose Murray of Louth Village at 6.35 a.m. Shortly afterwards, at 7.40 a.m., a daughter, weighing 8 lbs, was born to Mrs. Margaret 0’Donovan of Navan.

And Mrs. Elizabeth Martin’s daughter, who weighed in at 8 1b 8 oz, just about classified as a New Year baby when she arrived at 10.45 p.m. Mrs. Martin lives in Newfleld, Drogheda.
