Gardaí investigat­e Marian Park burglary

GARDAÍ in Drogheda are investigat­ing a burglary at a house in Marian Park on Thursday, February 1st.

The incident happened sometime between 4.20pm and 8.15pm. THE owners of the property were out at the time and came home to find entry had been gained and a number of rooms were ransacked but it is not believed anything was taken.

The front window of a house in John Street was smashed on Wednesday, January 31st, however entry to the property does not appear to have been gained and nothing was stolen.

The previous day, January 30th, a work van was broken into at Termon Abbey and a Dewalt drill was taken from the vehicle.

Gardaí are also investigat­ing break-ins at two business premises in Ardee in the early hours of Sunday, February 4th between 3am and 5am.

Entry was gained to both the Lidl store on the Donore Road and a veterinary surgery on Hale Street.

A third premises, Cluskey’s Public House on the Ardee to Dundalk Road was also broken into during the same timeframe.

Two further premises in Dundalk, Jackie Murphy’s Public House and Aura Leisure Centre were then targeted.

Gardaí believe all the incidents may be connected and are asking anyone who may have seen a vehicle acting suspicious­ly in any of these locations to contact them.

Meanwhile, a handbag was stolen from a car parked at Old Mellifont on February 4th at 1pm.
