Boomerang plays part in safer internet

BOOMERANG Youth Service, situated at Fair Street, is playing its part in Safer Internet Day, an EU wide initiative which promotes safer internet use, will take place on Tuesday 6th February.

The Theme for Safer Internet Day 2018 is “Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you”.

The Cyberbully­ing Team at Boomerang Youth Service are very busy visiting all schools in the Drogheda area with their Cyberbully­ing presentati­ons. Both students and parents are invited to attend and participat­e in these invaluable Talks.

Grainne Ferran, Boomerang’s Cyberbully­ing Team said, “1 in 10 young people experience Cyberbully­ing and through our targeted presentati­ons in schools we highlight the various platforms and dangers to young people of all ages. We also stress the importance of online safety and monitoring to parents and guardians”.
