LOCAL drama group Aisteoirí na Boinne are delighted to bring the hilarious comedy ‘It Runs in the Family’ to Drogheda.

Written by Ray Cooney, the performance will run from Tuesday, February 6th to Saturday, February 10th in the Droichead Arts Centre starting at 8pm each evening.

Now in it’s 12th years, Aisteoirí na Boinne has gone from strength to strength, raising much needed funds for local charities each year.

‘We thoroughly enjoy ourselves preparing to stage each play and by the response we get from our audiences so do they!,’ said a spokesperson for the group. ‘We seem to have found our niche in comedy and who doesn’t love a good laugh.’ During their 12 years in existence, the group has raised over €60,000 for various charities.

‘It Runs in the Family’ takes place in the doctors’ common room of St Andrews City Hospital three days before Christmas.

Dr David Mortimore is visited by an old flame who delivers excruciating news on the morning of the annual Buckley lecture, which will make or break his career. His attempts to retrive the situation result in a series of calamitous misunderstandings involving acrobatic matrons, mislaid mothers, neurotic dogs, errant fathers and more.
