Man (21) pleads guilty in court to begging on West Street

A 21-year-old man has given a sworn undertaking to never again beg in Drogheda.

Christopher McKenny, Harpur House, William Street, Drogheda, was in the district court for begging at West Street and Stockwell Street on 8 October, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to both charges, and after swearing on oath, he got the benefit of the probation act.

However, Judge Coughlan warned McKenny if he begs again, he will put him in Mountjoy.

The defendant was granted legal aid.
