Ballymakenny Road flooding is constant issue

-

WHAT, if anything, is being done to resolve a frightening scenario on the Ballymakenny Road I wonder.

Maybe a local councillor could get their teeth into the task.

Every time it rains, and it does not need much, there is flooding at the bad bend close to Morgan’s factory, no more than a mile from the town.

I came across it recently and the road was covered, although the council clearly knew as there was a ‘road flooded’ warning up.

I was told one car ended up going onto the bank as a result.

This has been going on for years and surely talks of some description have taken place.

The ditch to the left needs to be cleaned and piped to take the water away.

There is also another flooding issue at Townrath, close to the railway bridge. Time for action!
