Phase one of Pairc Tailteann work gets nod
PLANNING permission for the redevelopment of Pairc Tailteann has been granted by Meath County Council.
The approval of planning permission allows the Co Board to proceed with the first phase of the project, which would see the construction of a new 4,000-seater stand.
A press release from County PRO Ciaran Flynn said the news was a massive opportunity for Meath GAA and all its supporters, and it continued: ‘We urge the people of Meath, our supporters and patrons everywhere to support us in this venture as it will be of tremendous benefit to all in the GAA and it will boost the local economy.’
The proposed development will consist of a 21,000-seated capacity or a mix of seated and standing at the venue in Brews Hill, Navan.
The development is designed so it can be built in phases as finance becomes available and the phasing will be done so that future development will not be compromised.
Phase one of the project is a 4,000-seat stand and ancillary work which will cost in the region of €10 million.
