Bleak prospects for Boyne Rovers

-

ROCK-BOTTOM Boyne Rovers look doomed after suffering a heavy home defeat to fellow strugglers Lantern Lounge in Friday night’s Premier Division clash in the Fosters Duleek & District League.

Elsewhere, all three remaining matches in the top flight were drawn, while in Division 1 the big match saw leaders Maguires held by Carranstown B whose point edged them closer to the knockout stages. Hill Bar’s away win over Black/White Thatch saw them leapfrog their hosts out of bottom spot.

In Division 2, there’s now a three-way tie at the top after Foxs defeated leaders Thatch C and Grennans also moved onto the 14-point mark, while Sally Inn and Railway Bar continued to set the pace in Division 3 after Friday night victories.

Meanwhile, this is your last chance to enter next Sunday’s Singles Competition as the draw takes place this Thursday at 8.30pm in the Carranstown Lodge, Duleek. The entry fee is €10 per player, with a minimum prize fund of €1,000, spot prizes, charity raffle, first-round losers competition and Fosters promotion.

Registration for Sunday’s tournament, in the Westcourt Hotel, will finish at 1.30pm and the Doubles Competition takes place on Sunday February 25th, also in the Westcourt.
