St Michael’s in Ranafast final

-

St. Michaels. Clogherhead and Stabannon Parnells meet in the final of the Ranafasf Cup at the Grove Field. The Stabannon side have football history behind them while the Clogher side have youth in their favour. On Sunday the South Louth boys will be out to make history, too, as, after six years of trying, they have at last reached the final of this competition.

Of the fifteen who played in the club’s first outing six years ago. two remain. They are Christy Matthews and Paddy Smyth, and it is only fitting that these two veterans should be captain and vice-captain. Little has been heard of the budding players of Clogher.

The Clogherhead line-out will be: J; McLeer, P. Sharkey, Jim Reilly, Paddy Smyth, John Smith, Pat Byrne, Luke Sharkey, Tom Smyth, Joe Kirwan, C. Matthews, H. McQuillan, John Kirwan, T. Cunningham, E. Tuite and B. Kirwan with M. Byrne. P. Kirwan, Tom Lynch, M. Kirwan, P. Kirk, J. Kirk, W. Sharkey and Pat Burke as subs.
