Results for the Spring Lamb 9 hole re-entry competitio­n played 27th/28th January are as follows: 1st John Byrne and 2nd Pauric Pentony . The Midweek winner was Jim Faulkner with 20 points.

A NEW YEAR FOR THE TULLYALLEN CARERS

The Carers are celebratin­g the new year with a mass and blessing in the Church on Wednesday, 6th February at 10am in Tullyallen. Everyone will then be welcome to come along to the golf club for some tea and chat and a general catch up afterwards.

PARISH NEWS

The Africa Magazine supports the work of the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society Kiltegan, Co. Wicklow. Readers are informed of the changing challenge facing the missionary and gives them a sense of belonging in the frontier work of the church. If you wish to subscribe to this magazine, please leave your name and contact details in the sacristy (before Wednesday 14th of February ) for Mr. Moonan who is co-ordinating the Africa Magazine. Subscripti­on is €10 a year.

The next Do This in Memory Mass is on Sunday 11th of February at 11.00 am. Ash Wednesday, is the 14th of February . Masses with the blessing and distributi­on of ashes at 10 am and 7.30pm.

During Lent all weekday Masses are at 7.30pm.

The AGM of the Parish Pastoral Council will take place on Thursday 1st of March at 8.15pm in the Parochial House. Why not come along and see what the council has undertaken in the past year? Why not come along and offer a suggestion for future parish activities in the areas of Outreach, Spirit Filled Worship and Faith Formation? Why not become a member on the council? The council seeks new members to contribute to all the above. All are welcome!

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday 30th January 2018. The Grand Prize Draw was for €3,600 and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were: 10, 22, 23 & 30. The 4 Lucky Dip winners who receive €25 each are Sean Biggles Martin, Monica Murphy, Katie & Aoife Faulkner and John Russell. Next week’s draw is €3,700. FÉILE PEILE NA NÓG 2018

Great news for the Glen Emmets Club. Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 (Down, Louth, and Meath) Tournament will be played on June 29th, 30th & July 1st and the Glen Emmets will be a host club. This certainly is something for the village to look forward to.

GLEN EMMETS MEMBERSHIP

Membership for the Glen Emmets is now open the next registrati­on will take place Sunday, 18th February 10am to 12 noon and costs €75 Adult Player Membership, €50 Non-Adult Playing Membership, €50 Student (Aged 18-21) Student ID required, €50 Juvenile Membership, €120 Family Membership (1 Adult & all kids U18) €150 Family Membership (2 Adults & all kids U18). All children U7 are free but still need to be registered.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

Slimming World are running their classes every Thursday. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. If you feel you have overdone it a wee bit at Christmas, why not head on down to the Glen Emmets Clubrooms. All new and returning members are more than welcome as Amanda will be there giving plenty of inspiratio­n, motivation and encouragem­ent to everyone who comes along.

FUN GYMNASTICS

Gymnastics classes take place in the parish hall and is aimed at children 5-14 years. They have a few places left for their new term that starts Wednesday 31st January. Give them a call on 86 041 1112 to book your place or to find out more info on this.

MEN’S SHED

The Tullyallen Men’s Shed have meet on Tuesday mornings at 10am in the Glen Emmets Clubhouse. The Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. All new members are more than welcome to come along for a chat and cup of tea. So why not go along and see what it’s all about.

TULLYALLEN MACRA TRACTOR RUN

It’s all systems go for the Tullyallen Macra Tractor Run in aid of the Drogheda Homeless Aid and the Women’s Refuge that will be held on Sunday 25th February. Registrati­on will take place at Drummonds, Drogheda at 12pm and ending in Dolly Mitchell’s, Rossin for food & live music.

PARENT TODDLER GROUP

The Tullyallen Parent Toddler group continues to meet every Thursday (during school term) upstairs in the Glen Emmets Clubrooms. It costs just €3 per adult (this includes entry to the Glen Emmets lotto) and is great for anyone with little children to meet up with other like-minded people for a cuppa and chat while the kids get to play together in a fun safe environmen­t.

TULLYALLEN RED CROSS

The Tullyallen Red Cross classes have started back in the Glen Emmets on Tuesday nights 7.30 to 9pm, all are welcome to come along and see what it’s all about.

Tenure Community’s First Responders would like to remind you that there is now a defibrilla­tor outside Tenure’s Shop and all should familiaris­e themselves on how to activate and work it. In the coming weeks,Informatio­n on how to do same, along with various training and fundraisin­g events will be flagged in this column.
