People dumping contents of bins during the night

-

COUNCILLOR Frank Godfrey is appealing for the town to ‘get clean’ in time for the forthcoming Fleadh Cheoil, stating that it needs a paid overhaul, with dumping blighting the landscape.

‘It does not look good and gets a terrible impression of the town,’ he stated.

He would urge anyone who comes across those dumping to report the matter to the council.

‘ There are real health problems possible with the scale of dumping that’s going on,’ he stated.

He told of people wheeling their bin onto a green area at night and dumping the contents.

‘ The council can only do so much in clearing this up. It’s down to the people to stop this,’ he remarked.
