Lucky Louth has amazing 76 jackpot lotto winners

IT seems Louth has all the luck when it comes to the Lotto has it was revealed the Wee county has had an amazing 76 jackpot winners who have scooped over €89m between them.

The news comes as the National Lotto marked it’s 3,000th draw last week.

Last summer it was revealed that Louth punters have the best chance of Lotto wins as one in 766 people have won prizes worth over €15,000.

Since the very first draw on April 16th, 1988, more than €4.4 billion has been paid out in Lotto prizes with €2.9 billion raised for good causes all over Ireland.There have been 1,738 Lotto jackpot wins with 745 jackpot prizes exceeding €1 million.

The main cities had the biggest number of jackpot wins at 572, totaling over €872 million, followed by Cork with 172 jackpot wins totaling €245 million and Galway with 92 lotto jackpots totaling €116 million.

National Lottery Chief Executive, Dermot Griffin, revealed that more than over €4.4 billion in prizes has been paid out to Lotto players in Ireland since the game was launched in 1988.
