RAPE CRISIS BODY IN FUSION BOOST
DONATION MADE TO GROUP TO HELP IMPROVE THEIR SERVICES
RAPE Crisis North East has thanked local nightclub owner Neil Kelly of Fusion for a welcome donation to the group.
Neil recently held a fundraising event ‘A Life in a North East Town’ at his business in Georges Street for a number of charities one of which included Rape Crisis North East.
‘ As Manager of Rape Crisis North East I wish to acknowledge with thanks and great appreciation of the donation of €900.00. A heartfelt thank you goes to Neil Kelly, his mum Martina Kelly and all those who participated and supported the event. These vital funds will help us continue to support clients of rape and sexual violence and their families in the North East area,’ Grace McArdle stated.
The service provides a North East free phone confidential helpline, Crisis support & intervention, Individual counselling & therapy for teenage boys and girls from 12 years of age, Individual counselling & therapy for adults male and female as well as support groups for survivors of sexual violence and other elements of care and back up services.
‘ The donation from Neil Kelly will be used to help support our young people’s counselling service. Rape Crisis North East are looking to develop two counselling rooms at our offices in the Cherrywood Counselling Centre in Dundalk and to furnish our counselling office in Drogheda to a quality standard.’
Grace adds, ‘ the donation will contribute towards not only enabling us to progress and expand in our specialised field of work but also assist us in continuing the delivery of a professional and dedicated counselling service. It will help transform our young people’s counselling service into a comfortable and welcoming environment and help convey to them that RCNE is a place where they can feel safe, this is a place where they can speak freely and this is a place that they can speak in confidence. It is essential that we create an environment that is warm and calming for effective counselling to take place.’
