Superdrugt­o openintown

SUPERDRUG are to open a new store in Drogheda in the coming weeks.

The company, which has 803 stores in the UK and Ireland, has already begun a recruiting campaign to secure local assistant managers and staff.

The firm has a range of services, from beauty stores to health and is the second largest in the UK behind Boots.

The first Superdrug store opened in Putney High Street in 1966 and it presently has seven stores in Ireland.

Superdrug online offered delivery to the Republic of Ireland in 2015.

The company’s newest store is in the Swords Pavilions shopping centre and was the fourth Superdrug outlet in Dublin.

Another store was earmarked for Arklow and the company said the aim was more centres for 2018. The Swords branch created 15 jobs.

‘Republic of Ireland is an incredibly important chapter in the growth of Superdrug internatio­nally and we are actively looking for prime sites in which to offer our unique mix of beauty and wellbeing to Irish customers,;’ Nigel Duxbury, Superdrug’s property director, said.
