‘Liquidate the drug dealers’

-

‘I want to liquidate the drug dealers in Co. Louth,’ Judge Coughlan has remarked.

He was speaking having imposed a five-month suspended sentence on Mantas Vysniauskus (18), 20 The Close, Highlands, Drogheda for possession and possession for supply of €437-worth of cocaine.

The offences occurred at Highlands Estate on 1 April, 2017.

The case had been adjourned for a probation report, and the court was told it was an incomplete report, as the defendant had not turned up for one of his appointments with the probation service.

Vysniauskus has no previous convictions. The judge told him if he ‘spits on the footpath’ in the next five months, he will serve five months; and if he is before the court for a similar drugs offence again, will go to jail for a long time.
