St Mary’s roof appeal

A MAJOR fundraising campaign has been launched in a bid to raise up to €200,000 to save the roof of St Mary’s church on James Street.

The church, built in the 1880s, has suffered from wear and tear over the years and slates need to be replaced to help secure the roof structure.

A fund-raising committee has been set up in the parish to raise the necessary funds and a number of events have been organised.

First up is a fundraising concert featuring the Drogheda Male Voice Choir & David Leddy along with Amie Dyer and the Drogheda Boys Choir. Alison Comyn is the compere. It takes place on Friday 9th March in St Mary’s Church at 8.00pm, Tickets are €15.00.

They have also organised a Golf Classic on the 27th April 2018 in Laytown/Bettystown Golf Club. People can support this project by any of the following: Team of four - €300 includes green fees and dinner. Tee Box Sponsorship - €100.
