Kristin’s unique show in town

DROGHEDA woman Kristin Kelly-Abbott will bring her unique production - Launch Day - to the Droichead Arts Centre on February 23 . Based in Newcastle for the past 13 years, Kristin created and toured her first full-length production across the North East of England in 2016 and recently received Arts Council Funding in England to support a National Tour of Launch Day, with one Irish date.

It is set in the industrial North East of England, incorporating the shipyards and the rivalry between Newcastle and Sunderland football clubs. Kristin is even thinking of tweaking it to include Drogheda and Dundalk FC’s links!

Kristin will also have students from her old school, Greenhills, involved in the show. There is a real local angle to the soundtrack as Kristin collaborated with local man Breifne Holohan on it.
