Sparks put it up to the Dynamites

DROGHEDA SPARKS 26 LIBBY DYNAMITES 45

DROGHEDA Sparks are the latest to be brushed aside by a good, smart Libby Dynamites team whose convincing victory last Saturday moved them top of the Under-16 table.

They didn’t have it all their own way, however, and with three minutes remaining in the third quarter the Dromiskin team led by just four points as Sparks applied pressure on the league leaders. Scores from Elle Riggs and Gretta McEvoy, along with strong play from Kate Kelly and a best-of-the-season performance by Nikola Busa helped narrow the gap from 12 points and at that stage there looked to be the possibility of an upset.

However, Dynamites regrouped and played a composed fourth quarter to win comfortably in the end and Sparks’s next assignment is away to Steelers this Saturday at 1.15pm.
