Gormanston junction is a disgrace says cllr

-

FINE Gael Councillor Sharon Tolan has called for immediate action by Meath County Council to reline the road markings at the busy Gormanston Junction at the entrance to the M1.

“This road is very heavily trafficked, with more than 22,000 vehicles traveling on it daily. The lack of road markings is a very serious safety issue. Often drivers are upon the junction exit before they realise it is the exit they need and resort to swerving across the carriage way. It’s an absolute death trap! The council must act immediately to improve safety.

When first elected in 2014, we were given assurances that this Junction, which is the first impression visitors to the county get, would be maintained and cleaned twice a year. This has not happened, and the condition of the entire Junction is absolutely disgraceful.” said Tolan.
