Shane Harrison takes up BBC role
DROGHEDA journalist Shane Harrison has been appointed to the prestigious post of Dublin Correspondent for the BBC.
Currently working with B.B.C. Northern Ireland, in Belfast, Shane will move to Dublin in September.
He will be responsible for gathering and relaying all news stories from the Republic.
The thirty-year-old newsman replaces the current holder or the post Adrian Horseman who is believed to be returning to England.
Shane is the elder son of Royal Liver Assurance Company executive, Pat Harrison, and Alice Harrison, of Highfield, Drogheda. He was educated locally with the St. Joseph’s Christian Brothers School at Sunday’s Gate and at Bcamore Road. He graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science and Politics.
