COMMUNITY ALERT

The Broomfield and District Community Alert, Text Alert mobile number is 086 2193103. The Text Alert has been very busy recently with numerous texts sent out informing of burglaries, suspicious vehicles and occupants, and other such information. There have been a number of carbreak-ins at places of historical interest including Old Mellifont Abbey and the Hill of Slane.

This totally unjustified and unacceptable activity is occurring with greater regularity, and is a worrying trend given that visitors and tourists come to the area to visit these places of interest, and spend their money locally.

They don’t expect to be robbed when doing so. With the tourist season fast approaching, every effort must be made to give greater security and safety to tourists, visitors, and locals alike. Also, please be wary of tools and equipment being sold at knock down prices from vans. Always ask for identification if you are in any way suspicious, genuine traders will not be offended or put about by such a request. If you are suspicious, decline the offer and alert the Gardai, giving as much information as possible.

TUS VACANCY

A TUS vacancy exists with Broomfield and District Residents Association. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnership, the body who have responsibility for implementing the TUS Scheme in this area.
