Soccer match ends in €3,000 payment

-

A teenager has had a charge of assault causing harm struck out, after he undertook to pay €3,000 compensation to an opponent in a soccer match which was played at Drogheda Grammar School grounds, Mornington Road, on 4 October, 2015.

Previously, the court heard of a ‘punchup’ between the two, when the accused was aged 16.

On viewing a medical report, Judge Coughlan remarked on what was a ‘ bad jaw injury’.

Last week, the victim was also in court with his father.

The charge was struck out, with liberty to re-enter in the event of the money not being paid.
