Lack of road markings

-

Urgent action needs to be taken to address the lack of adequate road markings in the town, it has been claimed.

At the February meeting of Drogheda Municipal District, Councillor Paul Bell said he was very disappointed the road markings in the town are not being done.

‘I have a concern we are letting it go too far at this stage,’ he said. ‘I am asking for some real and urgent action to be taken.’

He also raised concerns about people crossing over to the wrong side of the road between Magdalene Street and Peter Street when the traffic is backed up. He said people are crossing over to the wrong side of the road in order to get across to Fair Street.

Cllr Bell said the situation needs to be addressed because pedestrians are looking the wrong way while these cars are coming on the wrong side of the road.
