SUNHILL Nursing Home are delighted to announce that they have completed a new extension to their existing Nursing Home. A 22 bed extension has increased their capacity from 70 beds to now 92 beds. This makes Sunhill now that largest Nursing Home in County Louth.

Shane Kelly General Manager and Elaine Moloney Director of Nursing have been running Sunhill for the last 10 years and have seen the demand for Nursing Home beds increase over the years. This new extension has allowed Sunhilll to split the Nursing Home into 3 separate care units, Seapoint, Sandpit and Baltray.

All of the new 22 bedrooms are private rooms with large ensuites. Every bedroom has a patio door out onto an enclosed garden space, allowing more freedom and independence for residents. Bedrooms are equipped with Smart TV’s, telephone and full WiFi capability.

The extension and internal modifications also included a further 6 new sitting rooms allowing residents varied spaces to spend their time, 3 new dining rooms, 2 new Activity rooms and lots of seated areas throughout.

Currently Sunhill employs 105 people, both full time and part time and are in the process of recruiting another 20 people.

Sunhill’s reputation has long been associated with an incredible array of activities for Residents to partake in, including several holidays throughout Ireland for residents. Elaine Moloney explains “that coming to live in a Nursing Home is only the beginning of a new life chapter, and should be filled with fun and things to look forward to”.
