LOUTH manager Philip O’Brien cut a frustrated figure after seeing his side draw with Warwickshi­re in a game he felt was there for the taking. O’Brien blamed poor finishing for his side’s failure to beat the thirteen men of Warwickshi­re and admitted he was disappoint­ed that Louth didn’t capitalise on those two red cards for the opposition.

‘Warwickshi­re were an unbeaten side coming into today and they probably would have fancied their chances against us if truth be told. A lot of people wouldn’t particular­ly rate Louth hurling and I think they felt confident coming to Darver to play us today,’ explained Philip.

‘The way the game panned out though I’d have to say that I’m disappoint­ed and I think we left a point out there today.

‘I thought we were the better team but unfortunat­ely we didn’t take our chances when we got them and that was the difference between winning and drawing at the end of the day.
