SINCERE SYMPATHY
The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Association and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to the Monaghan and extended Monaghan Family on the passing of Davy Monaghan, Long Beach, New York and formerly of Woodlands, Navan recently. Davy was a nephew of the late Seamie Heery, Starinagh. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you.

RAMBLERS COUNTRY TRACKS - AGAIN
The Ramblers Country Tracks Walking Group were spotted passing through the area again last Saturday, 10th February. Quite a turn out on this occasion also.
SET DANCING NEWS
Set Dancing Classes take place in Teach Raithneach every Monday evening from 8.30 to 10.30 pm. The ideal preparation for this years Fleadh Ceoil na h-Eireann in Drogheda. You don’t need a partner to participate. Everyone welcome. Light refreshments served. Contact Gerard on 087 2729154 for further information.
Meanwhile, a terrific nights Set dancing was held in the 19th Baltray last Thursday night, 15th February. Organised by the Sandpit Set Dancers, and well attended, this is the first of this year’s ‘Out and About’ Set Dancing sessions, with more to follow. Set Dancing sound-man Jim Finegan celebrated his birthday last week also. The perfect excuse for sweet cake! Congratulations Jim and thanks for all the help over the years.

FARRELLY SCHOOL OF IRISH DANCING
The Farrelly School of Irish Dancing conduct classes in Step and Ceili Dancing in Teach Raithneach on Tuesday evenings. Class begins at 6.00 pm and concludes at 7.30 pm. New Members, boys and girls are welcome at any time. Please contact Grainne on 086 3707227 or Olive on 086 3502157.

TUS VACANCY
A TUS vacancy exists with Broomfield and District Residents Association. The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenance and up-keep of a number of amenities throughout the District. If you think you are eligible to participate in this Scheme, then please contact the Secretary on 086 3212986 for more information. Self referral forms are available. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnership, the body who have responsibility for implementing the TUS Scheme in this area.
BLIAIN NA GAEILGE 2018
Bliain na Gaeilge 2018 is a year-long festival to celebrate both the Irish language in 2018 and the 125 years since the beginning of its revival in 1893. A comprehensive programme of events is planned for the year. This includes a variety of creative activities designed to raise awareness about the language, to inspire people to participate in the celebrations, and to highlight both the challenges and the achievements of the Irish language in the public discourse. A series of fun and engaging events will be organised locally, nationally, and internationally to encourage people around the world to use whatever Irish they have on a regular basis as well. Various bodies have worked together to bring the vision of Bliain na Gaeilge to fruition, including Foras na Gaeilge, Conradh na Gaeilge, Údarás naGaeltachta, RTÉ, TG4, officials from relevant Departments and, the many other groups who have worked tirelessly to bring the vision of Bliain na Gaeilge to fruition.
