FAREWELL LARRY.
The death has occurred late last week of Larry Hand Senior peacefully after a short illness at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Growing up on the Ardee road my childhood was like living in a small bubble.
My mam always wondered why as a young girl I knew so many of the “Grownups” we would greet down the street.
Looking back it is not hard to know why. My daily ventures were limited to mostly visiting Olive in Kings, Tessie; Vincie and Tony Torris, Pats, and Larrys.
Larry was never short of chat, stories (and sometimes a good sneer). Though retired from the family butchers, he was always around.
Larry is one of those big characters whose memory will live on among this tight-knit community.
A community in mourning for one of their legends. A man whose life reflected the value of a life well lived. Rest in Peace Larry.
Sincere sympathies to Larry’s brother Brendan, his children; Caroline, Edward, Lynette, Aidan, Annemarie, Michael, Laurence and Patrick.
His sons-in-law, daughtersbrothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

DUNLEER GOLF SOCIETY
The Society is one of the largest in the North East with some fifty members. The Season starts on the 10th of March with a visit to Seapoint Golf Course.
During the year the Society will also visit Dundalk, Concrawood, Killeen Castle, Laytown/Betty’s Town and an away outing in September to Bunclody.

St. Kevin’s are delighted to announce that they are hosting a concert featuring the band of An Garda Síochana; Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at 8:00 pm in St. Kevin’s Community Centre, Philipstown. Tickets are €10 per adult and €5 per child over 12.
