Louth County Council getting ready for freeze
LOUTH County Council has confirmed that preparations have begun for expected severe weather this week.
They say they are monitoring the situation and ‘ making all preparations possible’ for the anticipated severe weather.
‘We are in contact with all relevant agencies including An Garda Siochana and the HSE and the Civil Defence have been put on standby.
‘ The Director of Housing has instigated the putting in place of the cold weather response for homeless with SIMON and Drogheda Homeless Aid.
‘Crews are being assigned to gritting footpaths, clearing snow, assisting with traffic management, water services and any other works necessary. Brine stations have been checked and filled as necessary and all gritter trucks are fully operational,’ a spokesperson added.
