Special evening at the Highlanes Gallery for food and art lovers

-

AFTER the huge interest from audiences in January, Highlanes Gallery is presenting another Supper Tour, this time, focussing on the theme of Drogheda in the Collection.

If you have not called in, there are gems of work in the Collection where Drogheda, its streetscape and the Boyne Viaduct are depicted across painting print and mixed media over three centuries.

However, if you want to get closer to the work, Drogheda’s history and the artists who made them, don’t miss Community Historian, Brendan Matthews tour, followed by informal supper with performances from the crème of Co. Louth traditional performers, Gradam Ceoil 2018 award winner, Pádraigín Ní Uallacháín, Gerry Cullen ( Voice Squad) and Kern; Brendan McCreanor (uilleann pipes), SJ McArdle (voice and guitar) and Barry Kieran (fiddle), who have just won the Trad Fest Showcase 2018, which sees them perform in Milwaukee in August.

Join the group for an evening of art, food and music, and (re) discover the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection. Choose from two distinct thematic guided tours of some of the highlights of the Collection, followed by a buffet supper and wine, with live musical accompaniment.

Tickets are €30 and include the guided tour, buffet supper, glass of wine, tea/coffee and music and song, and can be booked on Eventbrite.

The event is on Wednesday 28 February 2018, 7.00pm– 9.30pm

Highlanes Gallery is grateful for the ongoing financial support from Louth County Council, the Arts Council, and Patrons, Benefactors and Friends of the gallery.
