Roscommon had plenty of contenders in their starting XV, but Smith was introduced to a loud cheer just after the break and proceeded to kick four points from play followed by three frees to bring his tally for a half-hour cameo to seven points. Others to impress were Diarmuid Murtagh, Enda Smith and Conor and Niall Daly. For Louth Tommy Durnin was doing well until he was forced off at half-time with concussion.
