Cooley too strong for Raghallaighs
COOLEY KICKHAMS O RAGHALLAIGHS 1-15 1-6
COOLEY Kickhams recorded an opening day victory as they proved too strong for O Raghallaighs in this clash at Fr McEvoy Park on Sunday morning.
Both sides were short a number of their established players and in the first half it was Cooley who had the better of things as they kicked a number of well-taken scores, including efforts from Fearghal Malone and Michael Rafferty.
The O Raghallaighs found it difficult to match their opponents but they remained in contention thanks to a goal from Kevin Magee to help the cut the gap to 0-11 to 1-2 at the break.
The second half saw Cooley in no mood to allow their opponents back into the game and a goal from Michael Kane helped ensure they reached the final whistle with a comfortable nine-point advantage.
